Bishop Brandon A. Jacobs Sr. is the founder and Senior Pastor of New Zion Temple Church organized December 14, 2006. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies at MoodyBible Institute in Chicago, IL. Bishop Jacobs was called into the gospel ministry at the age of 9 and began preaching at age 13. He received his license at the Mount Hermon Missionary Baptist Church, East Chicago, IN under the leadership of Reverend Andre McGhee. In June 2003, he received his ordination at New Jerusalem Temple of the Living God, Marlton, New Jersey under the leadership of Apostle Sharon R. Robinson, where he served as Youth Pastor from 2000-2004. Bishop Jacobs served as Interim Pastor and associate minister of Mount Herman Baptist Church, East Chicago, IN, from 2005-2006. New ZionTemple Church is an affiliate of Pilgrim Assemblies International, Inc. which is headquartered in New York, under the leadership of Presiding PrelateArchbishop Roy. E. Brown and Chief Prelate Archbishop William Hudson III. In July 2015 Bishop Jacobs was selected by Archbishop Roy E. Brown as Bishop Designate. He was consecrated to the office of Bishop on July 8, 2016.
Due to exponential growth under the leadership and guidance of Bishop Jacobs, New Zion Temple Church successfully purchased a building on April 4, 2010, located at 926 MorrisSt., Hammond, IN. In addition to his leadership at New Zion Temple Church,Bishop Jacobs provides oversight to the following services throughout the community: Counseling, Youth Advocacy, and Senior Support Group. He utilizes a 21st century approach when providing services to the community while supporting the core principal of healthy mind, body and spirit.
Bishop Jacobs is well known throughout the community as evident through his diligent work with youth,the City of Hammond and the Ministerial Alliance. As a member of theNorthwest Indiana Black Expo Youth Division, he was instrumental in awarding$15,000 in scholarships to youth in East Chicago, Hammond, and Gary. Bishop Jacobs worked as a Recidivism Director and Counselor of Tri-City Alternative Action Program(TCAAP). He provided Life Skills Training curriculum to troubled teens, counseling sessions, and implemented creative guidelines to prevent the behavior of repeat offenders. Through God's inspiration, Bishop Jacobs has written and published his first book, ``All Eyes on Me; Lifestyle of the Young and Saved.`` It is his desire that this book provides guiding light for the many challenges our youth face in society today.
Bishop Brandon Jacobs married the beautiful and anointed Lady Vivian Jacobs in 2010. Elder Brandon and Lady Vivian Jacobs are the proud parents of four children. Lady Vivian Jacobs diligently serves alongside her husband and impels the vision that he has for New Zion Temple Church.
Bishop Jacobs believes his strong relationship with God sustains him and gives him the strength to better serve, not only his congregation, but the community at large.
